The Singapore River’s street furniture has been given a bold new look. Refreshed with striking colours that brighten the waterfront while complementing its surroundings, these benches continue to serve as inviting rest spots along Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay.
A collaboration between Singapore River One, Goldbell Group, and Raffles Design Institute, the Singapore River’s Street Furniture Design Project was first introduced in 2018 to enhance public spaces with thoughtful designs for visitors to Singapore River.
As part of the latest refurbishment, Raffles Interior Designer HENG Manith contributed to the colour selection process, ensuring a vibrant yet harmonious update to the original benches designed by Raffles Interior Designers Vera GUO Bing Ling and Thanakorn Sensathien, which had withstood the elements over the years. These benches remain a fixture of the riverfront experience, proving that great design is not just about aesthetics, it also provides good functionality with long-lasting impact for the community.
Take a seat along the Singapore River next time you stroll along the river.
