Oriental Fashion Summit

LAUNCH OF REGINA FANG ORIENTAL AWARD
In conjunction with the launch of Regina Fang Oriental Award, Raffles Design co-organised the
inaugural Oriental Fashion Summit with Raffles Fashion Designer and entrepreneur, Regina
FANG, in Singapore. This summit aims to promote Oriental fashion on the global platform,
with Regina sharing her personal study experience at Raffles Design Institute and how her education
shaped her vision for her labels, NEWFOUND and Regina Fang. Besides Regina, Mr Giuseppe (Joe)
SPINELLI (Principal of Raffles Design Institute), together with Dr WONG C.S (President) and Mr Barry
QIU (Executive Vice President) of the Oriental Elegance Research Studio, presented the influence of
Orientalism in the past, and the growing potential of Oriental fashion in the fashion industry.
The summit was well attended by Raffles Fashion and Jewellery Designers, who were eager to delve into
the cultural significance of Orientalism in contemporary fashion.
The winning designs will be produced and sold in both Singapore and China. Another successful
collaboration from Design to Retail!
