| From Concept to Light-Up: A Celebration of Togetherness by Design Turning dreams into reality takes time, dedication, and a whole lot of creativity! The vibrant display of festive lighting at the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 was created from a five-month interdisciplinary design collaboration between Chinatown Festivals Committee with Raffles College of Higher Education. Seven teams of passionate Raffles Designers, from the Animation, Design Management, Interior Architecture, and Product Design programmes, came together to design this year’s Mid-Autumn festive lighting to attract visitors and locals of all ages to Chinatown! Each team’s unique perspective contributed to the final masterpiece, resulting in four shortlisted designs being selected to form this year’s Mid-Autumn overarching theme – Togetherness. The inspiration for this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival concept comes from the joy of togetherness. We celebrate with the people we care about — friends and family. The festival is about bringing everyone together to enjoy activities, tasty food, and beautiful decorations. These traditions are at the core of the celebration, and they become even more meaningful when shared with the people who matter most to us.
