HARPER’S BAZAAR NEWGEN AWARDS CELEBRATING A DECADE OF SUCCESS: RAFFLES COLLEGE OF HIGHER EDUCATION REFLECTS ON HARPER’S BAZAAR NEWGEN AWARDS In commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Harper’s BAZAAR NewGen Award, Raffles College of Higher Education took a moment to highlight the remarkable achievements of its finalists over the years. Notably, this year Raffles Fashion Designers Verina LIE and Feliony FAUSTINE were named the Top Six FINALISTS in the prestigious Harper’s BAZAAR NewGen Award 2023. A heartfelt acknowledgement goes to Harper’s BAZAAR for orchestrating this competition, the esteemed panel of judges for their invaluable insights, and the mentorship programmes that have groomed Raffles Fashion Designers for success in the competitive fashion industry. Reflecting on the past decade, the College proudly recognizes three outstanding designers who clinched the Harper’s BAZAAR NewGen International Fashion Awards over the 10 years. Mr. Harvee KOK in 2014, Mr. William UTAMA in 2016, and Mr. Andrew LOW in 2018 all emerged as WINNERS, showcasing Raffles College’s consistent excellence. Mr Harvee KOK from Malaysia, saw his collection grace the pages of magazines across four countries with his “Bipolarity ” collection that he took inspiration from the game of weiqi. Mr William UTAMA from Indonesia, was crowned champion with his daring use of materials and innovative street-luxe attitude. Mr Andrew LOW from Singapore, claimed the Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Design Award for his collection blending utilitarian codes, tailoring, and avibrantarray of prints. Expressing gratitude, Raffles College of Higher Education extends thanks to Harper’s BAZAAR for providing a platform that propels student works closer to industry recognition.
